The thicker part of hair from your scalp is referred to as the donor. Basically, a person who has thinning hair can opt to undergo a minor surgery in which the doctors would take hair from the donor location and intricately place them on the thinning section in which one or two strands are transplanted to each location.

This just doesn’t affect men but also women and hair transplants or hair plugs is the new solution for hair thinning problems. They are low-risk and will give you natural and great results. If you are experiencing thinning hair and want to act on it as soon as possible, you can already opt for minor hair plugs but for those who already have severe cases, multiple hair plug sessions may be required. Though some are still skeptical about the procedure as it is considered as a surgery and the description – for some is quite scary but hair plugs are a great and safe way of keeping a full, healthy and natural head of hair. It’s as natural as it can get and every step in this procedure has been tested.
The Science Behind Hair Plugs
Before undergoing the hair plug treatment, you will be assessed first by the doctor so that she knows the cause and what type of hair plug method is perfect for you. There are different types of hair plugs, for mild cases, minor and mini grafts are used. This means that only one or a maximum of four hairs are transplanted at a time. For milder to severe cases, the surgeon may need to cut a portion of the scalp that already has healthy hair follicles and transplant it to the donor part of the scalp. The tool that is being used is called a trephine. This tool is used to remove round areas of the donor scalp without damaging the healthy hair follicles. Because that hair follicle needs to be as healthy as possible so it can live. That little piece of scalp that contains the healthy follicle is called the hair plug. A usual treatment and surgery can only take up to 50 to 100 grafts so that the donor site to allow for proper healing in which the patient is prescribed needed vitamins and antibiotics. Although many of us think that baldness or the problem of thinning hair is only for guys and that it’s a part of growing old, it’s also the same with women and this is something that decreases one’s self confidence. There are a lot of reasons why a person can have this dilemma – genetics, age, too much hair treatments, hormonal changes diet and even from existing medication can contribute to hairloss. Good thing that with hair transplant or hair plugs, your hair and confidence will be restored in no time.
